I used to take lessons when I was younger, but I haven't spoken the language in years. I hope. I’ll turn now to the practicalities of books. For the purposes of this lecture I would recommend firstly an anthology, Nua-bhardachd Ghaidhlig; Modern Scottish Gaelic Poetry, edited by Donald MacAulay.

It was first published in and is due to come out again next month, November I feel it is a book where virtually every poem works. Brown, I. and Dawson Books (a) The Edinburgh history of Scottish literature: Volume 3: Modern transformations: new identities (from ).
